Happiness doesn’t need “to do” anything: you are positing it does. Happiness is not relative to, and thus, you have your statement turned around or backward.
If you try to “realize” or “achieve” happiness in your personal life, you will always be chasing yourself and thus will never find it, never be content.

There are two understandings: one is through intellectual learning, and the other is experiential. Most people, especially hardcore seekers, intellectually understand what they read and then pretend that understanding is experiential, as if they know what they’re talking about. Throw a little meditation in the mix, and you get a hardcore stooge.
